The first step necessary to install a floor door stop is to locate the area in which it will be placed.
Determine the correct placement for the stop.
If fitting floor mounted door stops then similar steps are required although marking out the fixing point will of course be on the floor.
Find floor mounted door stop.
If you do not have a template or installation instructions set the stop about eight inches away from the lock side of the door.
Then using your drill put the drill bit through the hole in the rod and make a shallow hole in the skirting board.
You should also leave between 10 15cm between the door stop and the wall behind allowing amble space so the door handles don t knock the wall.
Place the tip of the screwdriver underneath the flared top of the hinge pin and use the screwdriver as a lever to force it out.
To protect the wall or furniture from being hit and damaged it s a good idea to use a floor mounted door stop.
Open the door to the point where you want it to stop.
Place the stop about 1 5 inches above the bottom of the door.
Ensure the doorknob is approximately 2 inches from the wall.
After removing the rod drill deep enough into the skirting board so that the screw will fit securely.
When you screw it in to the floor leave the screw a bit loose so the stop can pivot.
Then gently open the door to the stop allowing the stop to square to the door.
They re easy to fix and the rubber part bounces the door off softly and quietly.
Insert the securing screw through the top of the floor doorstop.
Step 6 position the floor doorstop over the hole in the floor with the bumper of the doorstop pointing away from the wall.
Before you drill a pilot hole place the rod section of the door stop flush to the skirting board where you want to install it.
After this open the door to the position where you want it to stop making sure there is sufficient clearance between the door and the wall.
4 fit the hinge pin through the ring on the doorstop.
Then tighten down the screw.
Tap the plastic anchor into the hole in the floor with a hammer if mounting to concrete.
