How to keep your silhouette studio mat from moving.
Make sure the arrow on the top of the mat is pointing into the machine.
The matte side will stick to the adhesive more and can cause it to be less sticky.
If your mat is bent use books to help flatten it.
If your mat is beyond it s days you can try using tape to hold your materials in place.
When loading a cutting mat into your silhouette align the mat with the white rollers.
I just got off the phone with silhouette and had to edit this post after getting some great help.
To restick the silhouette mat and another off brand cutting mat i used dritz basting spray from my local wal mart for less than 10 00.
Make sure to store your mat flat with the cover sheet over the adhesive.
Place the shiny side of the blue protective cover down on the adhesive side of the mat.
Soon loading your mat properly will become second nature and you ll be well on your way to enjoying lots of creative time with your silhouette.
Lift your silhouette s lid to make sure any tape that is connecting the motor to the side of the unit has been removed.
If this was not previously removed this would be the cause of the excessive noise.
So something i learned rather quickly after ruining 2 pieces of cardstock on my new silhouette cameo.
Use your palm or even better the silhouette scraper tool to press the media to the mat and check that is is stuck evenly throughout.
Tape off the edges of your mats to prevent spraying adhesive on the entire surface.
Use tape to hold materials in place.

Covering it each time can help keep it clean.
There are 2 sides to the blue protective cover a shiny side which is non stick and a matte side.
The mat was feeding initially but then would start slanting and feeding totally wrong and end up at.
This helps with very thick materials as well.
Pay attention to these details and you will save yourself a lot of wasted time and frustration.
