I have about 4 acres of woods i can make a food plot with and a new atv but i have seen the prices of some of the attachments and it just ain t in the cards.
For larger areas attach the mat to a lawn or garden tractor.
Lay an appropriately sized chain link fence on the surface.
Here is a quick rundown of how to make a chain link drag mat.
Place a couple of concrete blocks on top of the boards.
Use a cutting torch to cut a rectangular piece of grating to a size of 4 feet by 6 feet and then attach a chain to one of the 6 foot sides.
The drag mat can be pulled by hand across a small area.
A 4ft x 6ft width by length drag works for a start though you can make it longer than 6 foot as per your.
We built this using only items we had on hand in our shop that we had collected over the ye.
Add weight to the drag mat by placing a couple of old boards across the 4 foot width.
And you can easily pull it manually making it a fantastic alternative if you don t have an able tractor.
